From the year 2001 a series of GOST R ISO 9001-2001 national standards, year 2001 version, complying with ISO 9000 international standards, has been effective within the territory of the Russian Federation.  From January 1, 2009 the institute of self-regulating organizations (SRO) in the field of construction activity has been introduced in Russia and licensing has been cancelled.

The state has delegated responsibility for construction branch management to market participants themselves, having incorporated them into SRO. A self-regulating constructor organization is their labour union targeted at control over the activity of its participants, bearing of legal liability and liability for breakage for them, protection of their interests and representation thereof at public authorities.

SRO membership guarantees the client that a construction company owns a certain status and qualities, enabling to carry out its construction activity at the market. And it’s the ISO 9001 certificate that helps the company to obtain this status.
